The Fraser Street Tuna Melt Throwdown

A tuna melt. But not one made at Fraser Street Deli.

Is the Fraser Street Deli's Tuna Melt the best in State College? Is it now a mere percentage (and not a high one, no) of its former whole? Or, perhaps most dangerously, was it never even good? Were the taste buds of many fooled by the words "best tuna melt in town!" written so innocently on the FSD menu?

Discuss.

eeeaaasy...

i only post because i've heard from at least 3 people that the tuna melt, once magnificent, has fallen. indeed, of the 5 times i've had the melt, at least twice it was mediocre. i think the melt has fantastic potential, but sometimes, for whatever reason, it falls short.

as for shitting on everything in town - do yourself a favor and read the previous post...

Though there are times that the Panini is not completely done (like when they're busy during the lunch rush), on average, Frasier St reigns as the champs of the Tuna Melt World. On a scale of 1-10, Frasier street averages a 9.0, with a standard deviation of 1.3.

I think the trick with the Panini is going when its slow. However, I'm going to experiment next time with asking them for an "extra crispy" panini, so they leave it in the press a bit longer. That could be the key to success.
